Çanakkale Municipality Bazaar, Life Center, Car Park and Its Close Surroundings National Architectural PROJECT

LAND DATA:

​

 There is a commercial center and parking lot on the land. Around the land is the Police Department Building and the PTT Building adjacent to the land. The high height of these two buildings near the land made the perception of the land difficult. Muammer Aksoy Park is located in the northwest of the land. In the northeast of the land, there are residential buildings in Mehmetçik Boulevard and private property areas. While the facades of these residential buildings overlook Mehmetçik Boulevard, their private gardens are located adjacent to the land. In the southeast of the land, there are Lise street and commercial buildings. While the parking lot entrance is provided in the northeast direction of the existing building on the land, an exit is provided to the Mehmetçik Boulevard in the southwest of the land. This situation physically damaged the approaches to the field. In the Trade Center audience, the project is designed inward and did not establish a relationship with the approach and streets around it. As a result of this situation, dark streets that could not be used among the masses were formed.

 

URBAN CONTINUITY

 The public garden around the land, Muammer Aksoy Park and the city square are public spaces that are used extensively by people. The proximity of the land to such heavily used areas is an important design data. The most important idea of ​​this design is to ensure the public continuity of Demircioğlu Street, Muammer Aksoy Park and public garden on the periphery of the square. This idea of ​​continuity is provided by a linear axis holding the public garden, Muammer Aksoy park and the square. This axle is associated with commercial units on the land. The shaping of commercial units around this axis has increased the perception of the mass towards the public spaces around it. Intermediate axles holding the Muammer Aksoy park and the coastline that will support this main axle have been created. Commercial interaction has been increased by positioning commercial units in the field around these axes. Linear axes in Muammer Aksoy Park start with commercial units and end with culture and art spaces.

STRUCTURE

 

The building is shaped around public axes and environmental data. The spaces in the program are divided into public and private. Public spaces were perceived as commercial units, municipal service units, culture and arts venues were interpreted as more private spaces in the program. Commercial mass was created around the main axle. Culture, arts and municipal service units are located in areas where the land is conjoined with high masses and is surrounded by the surrounding masses. Public spaces have been created in these areas by constructing a square, lecture hall, children's playground and terrace for the spaces in these areas.

PLAN TYPOLOGY

​

While creating the plan typology, the old Çanakkale plan typology was tried to be reflected in the project. While providing access to the spaces, access to the spaces was provided by leaving large volumes in front of it, and the street setup around the main axis was continued around the commercial mass. The permeable and hollow building language between the circulation network provided by simple vertical and horizontal tools and the spatial clusters reveals the architectural attitude aiming to reveal the elements of content and essence. In this way, fictional integrity is provided in context. Commercial units are positioned around the axles at +0.00 elevation. On the ground, a gallery space is designed to establish a visual relationship with the foyer and other art spaces in the basement. Commercial units have been dissolved in the hall at +5.00 elevation, marbling art, music rehearsal, children's playgrounds and the masses around the main axis. Music and children's games are supported by open spaces. Only commercial units are resolved at elevation +9.50. In this way, the perception of the commercial mass in the field has been strengthened.

SUSTAINABILITY;

The building has been designed to adhere to the principles of sustainability during its construction and use. The structure, which is placed on the 8x8,6x6 meter axles, has a modular form and creates the possibility of making changes to the units in case of need. In order to benefit from daylight at the maximum rate, gaps were opened in the mass, and a gallery was created that continues along the commercial street and foyer. In order to keep the thermal efficiency of the building at an optimum level, closed surfaces were created without reducing the transparent surfaces required by commercial units, and a rhythmic facade design was designed.
